Research Skills Series

About the Biological Sciences Libraries Research Skills Series

We know that doing research, learning about research, and trying to work out how to do research well can be an often complex and confusing journey, especially when starting out. To help you develop the skills that you need when working at postgraduate level and beyond, we have a dedicated programme of workshops and sessions to get you up to speed.

From developing your literature review to presenting your first conference poster, we've got the main research lifecycle steps covered with lots of interesting topics in between.

For more information about what is coming up this year in our Research Skills Series, check out our online guide with details about the sessions, how to book, and how to get further help and support from our dedicated research support staff.

The Research Resolutions online course

If you want to refresh your research knowledge but are a bit stretched for time, we also have our short online course called Research Resolutions. This self-guided course will take you through four themes: online presence, literature searching, data management, and funder requirements. Once you've worked through the course, you will have the opportunity to get a certificate of completion to demonstrate your commitment to developing your skills.

As with all of our training opportunities, if you want to talk to a member of the Team about any of your research needs, we will be happy to book in a consultation with you to go through things in more detail.
