Undergraduate Collection
The Undergraduate Collection contains core reading for the pre-clinical Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos and key textbooks covering topics taught by the Department in the Natural Sciences Tripos. It includes most set texts on reading lists as well as other useful resources. The Undergraduate Collection is near the entrance to the Library space and can be identified by a green dot on the spine of each book. You can also browse the Undergraduate Collection online.
Main Collection
The Main Library collection comprises an extensive range of material on topics within physiology, development and neuroscience research, covering both humans and many animal species. This ranges from more historical reference material to modern textbooks at the forefront of our current scientific understanding.

EDI & Wellbeing Collection
The Library supports the work done by the Department's ED&I Taskforce and other diversity and inclusion initiatives taking place across our institution. Part of this support takes the form of a dedicated EDI & Wellbeing Collection which can be found in the Group Work Space. Topics covered include mental and physical wellbeing, race equality, LGBTQ+ rights, parenting, disability justice, inclusive recruitment and much more. You can browse the EDI & Wellbeing collection online or in person, as well as make recommendations for new titles.
Journals
The Department no longer retains historical runs of print journals and most of the collection was transferred to the University's Library Storage Facility. With extensive online provision, most articles are instantly accessible from wherever you are via iDiscover. If you require assistance in locating a particular article, please let us know.
Special Collections
The Library has a collection of historically important works relating to the history of anatomy and other related topics. Please contact the Librarian if you wish to consult this material.
The collections also comprise the Lovaton Veterinary Anatomy Library, which is situated in the Anatomy Building. The Department Officer responsible for this collection is Dr David Bainbridge
The Department also houses the Boyd Histological Collection (slides).The collection is available to view online via the Centre for Trophoblast Research website.
