Have you ever played in a sandbox?
The SBS Research Café Conference is designed to capture that same spirit of curiosity, creativity, and exploration. It serves as a sandbox for scholarly communications—a dynamic, collaborative space where participants are encouraged to learn by doing. Here, you are invited to present your emerging findings, exchange insights, and connect with fellow researchers.
A Platform for All
The Research Café Conference places PhD students and researchers in the spotlight. This event champions emerging scholarship and fresh perspectives, offering a vibrant platform for postgraduate researchers to present their work, exchange ideas, and build interdisciplinary connections
Inspired by the successful Research Café series at the West Hub, Cambridge, this first edition of the SBS Research Café invites participants into a welcoming space designed to share ideas, showcase research, and find opportunities for collaboration across departments.
Sessions will feature lightning talks, poster showcases and informal discussions over refreshments.

Join Us
Enter the research sandbox—come as a presenter or a participant. We encourage supervisors to actively support the Research Café initiative by motivating their postgraduate students to share and discuss their ongoing projects. First-year doctoral candidates are welcome to attend or share their research-in-progress within this collegial environment.
